| When 911 is called for a medical emergency an ambulance is dispatched, however it can take some time for the crew to assemble. For that reason many area agencies use something called a fly-car. A Fly-Car is taken by an EMT and is used as a first response vehicle. It can arrive on scene and begin treatment until the ambulance arrives. It is equipped with the same equipment as an ambulance but does not transport patients. |
